An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, as a Technical Project Manager.

This role is heavily customer-facing, involving working with existing clients on diverse projects and proactively seeking new business opportunities. You will oversee projects from initial quotation to final delivery, lead on-site teams, and act as a company ambassador.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lighting/audio/video system design and implementation, with good knowledge of current technologies and best practices. You should be able to specify complete systems in at least one core discipline with in-depth technical expertise. Hands-on leadership skills are essential to deploy systems and manage teams on-site proactively.

You should be enthusiastic, eloquent, comfortable producing quotes, presenting to clients, managing budgets, logistics, and business development. Experience in the production industry, a professional network, a positive attitude, excellent organizational skills, and high computer literacy are required. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is highly beneficial. Excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor are essential.

Due to the nature of live events, working hours will be flexible, including evenings and weekends. A full driving license would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure high standards in project delivery, exceeding client expectations
2. Liaise with clients to understand requirements, briefs, and deadlines
3. Attend site visits and client meetings to develop projects collaboratively
4. Translate project briefs into technical designs and specifications for lighting, audio, video, rigging, and scenic elements
5. Accurately cost and budget projects using rental management software
6. Maintain communication with clients throughout project development
7. Update specifications and budgets as projects evolve
8. Create technical drawings using AutoCAD
9. Prepare project and health & safety documentation
10. Manage logistics efficiently across multiple projects
11. Liaise with suppliers for resource planning
12. Adopt creative problem-solving and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
13. Supervise on-site project delivery, managing all aspects from load-in to load-out
14. Oversee internal and external staff and suppliers on-site
15. Build positive relationships with venues and clients
16. Complete project debriefs and nurture long-term client relationships
17. Proactively seek new business opportunities
18. Represent the company professionally at all times
19. Continuously develop technical, project management, and interpersonal skills
20. Seek guidance when needed
21. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies
22. Share expertise to support staff development
23. Maintain a professional appearance when interacting with clients
