About Us

We are a global media business specialising in the gaming industry. We have a publishing arm consisting of a dozen owned websites including PCGamesN.com and PocketTactics.com. We produce class-leading content for clients via our creative agency team, and work with advertisers to create fan-focussed experiences. We are based in Bath but are open to taking-on remote employees within the UK too.

The Role

You will be responsible for organising and progressing our development work schedule across Network N’s brands including PCGamesN, Pocket Tactics, Wargamer, and PCGameBenchmark.

Here you will find yourself working with some amazing partners across the gaming industry and driving our in-house development team to enhance and grow our digital portfolio including creative solutions for our commercial partners.

As our Project Manager, you will gather requirements, author well-written tasks that explain the work to be done by our team and assign that work with our talented team of developers and our partner companies.

You’ll follow the tasks through their lifecycle from inception to deployment. You will quality control the work that gets released and play a crucial role in our team as we work to produce high quality work in a timely manner.

A typical day starts with our Publishing Development team stand-up where we check what tasks each person is focussing on that day. If it’s a Wednesday, then you’ll have prepped our Weekly Dev Meeting agenda: you’ll run this weekly check-in with the Executive Chairman, James. You’ll present what decisions we need from him; give an overview on the progression of projects that make up our quarterly goals; and see what requests he has for us. You’ll keep us on time and confirm our priorities for the following week. You would typically spend the rest of the day QA-ing work from the development team. Part of the day will be project management: triaging and updating tasks, and reporting on ongoing progress. After lunch you’ll be on QA or further project management. We have two focus hours during the day where we can get our heads down and work uninterrupted. Before too long we’ll have QA’d and deployed some updates and it’ll be time for home!

We are extremely proud of our websites and the teams that work on them. We’d love to hear from you if you feel that you’re the right candidate to support our Publishing Development team.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • You will manage our projects and tasks lifecycles. From creating easy-to-understand and comprehensive task briefs with our team, to assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion to our high standards.
  • Working closely with the Head of Publishing Development to determine the priority and order of tasks.
  • Ensuring we keep a good pace of delivery with focus on work that benefits us commercially, improves our SEO, and makes our systems efficient for our editorial teams.
  • Working with our agency team to deliver on exciting digital solutions for our world-leading clients; and our advertising network team, Publisher Collective, to further boost our revenue.
  • Triaging and troubleshooting website bugs.
  • Ensuring our time logs are updated by the team and compile monthly reports.
  • Assisting with the creation of client briefs: working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, ensuring it is well-written and updated regularly.
  • Throughout the project delivery, ensure that any issues are escalated in a timely manner.
  • Managing user data deletion requests.
  • Reporting on projects and our portfolio of projects.

You Will Have/be/be Able To

  • Proven experience in project management and team workflow in a web development environment.
  • Professional project management qualifications, such as PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Working knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Good broad technical understanding of website development.
  • At least basic HTML and CSS knowledge so that you are able to QA a website as part of your role.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in written English.
  • Great interpersonal skills - we’re a happy, professional, nerdy bunch.
  • Conduct yourself calmly and professionally under pressure
  • Task management software experience. We use Asana.
  • Content management systems experience, such as Wordpress
  • Meet the requirements of IC3 in our Progression Framework
  • Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment

You Will Ideally Have/be/be Able To

  • A working knowledge of Wordpress
  • Understanding of technical SEO
  • A familiarity with web technologies such as RSS, XML, APIs
  • Basic working knowledge of Google Analytics 4
  • Basic working knowledge of Google Search Console

We are always learning new technologies and there are opportunities for you to learn about them with us.

If it sounds like you are the right fit, please apply with a covering letter and a CV.

Please also note that this role is based either hybrid (minimum expectation of 2 days per week in Bath head office) or can be remote within the UK, with monthly visits to the office as required.

*Please note that we do not have a sponsorship licence*
