Location: Hybrid – home working with occasional travel for meetings (London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds)
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Technology Delivery team and lead the delivery of technology-enabled change across QA.
This is a hybrid role, predominantly home-based, with occasional travel required for stakeholder meetings.
Working closely with Product Owners, technical leads and stakeholders, you’ll shape and manage delivery plans, dependencies and risks, creating the conditions for cross-functional teams to deliver successfully.
You’ll take ownership of projects from initiation through to go-live and benefits realisation, using agile ways of working to deliver valuable outcomes predictably and transparently while driving continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own end-to-end project delivery using agile approaches, from initiation through delivery, go-live and benefits realisation.
- Create and maintain delivery plans, milestones, sprint schedules, release plans and integrated dependency maps.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID), alongside appropriate delivery governance and change control.
- Lead stakeholder management and communications, providing clear status reporting, forecasts and decision points.
- Coordinate delivery across product, engineering, data, security, operations and external vendors.
- Plan and assure testing and release readiness, including UAT, training, cutover and operational handover.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, spend, supplier deliverables and commercial constraints.
- Maintain clear project documentation, including delivery plans, RAID logs, decision logs, release notes and handover information.
- Support change, communications and adoption activities with business and operational stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, metrics, team health and stakeholder outcomes.
About You
You’ll be an experienced project professional with a strong background in delivering technology-enabled change using agile approaches within complex stakeholder environments.
You’ll be comfortable bringing structure to ambiguity, managing competing priorities and keeping delivery moving at pace. Strong stakeholder management will be key, as you’ll work across technical and business teams as well as with senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
You’ll also be confident facilitating agile ceremonies and stakeholder workshops, managing project controls and communicating risks, progress and options clearly.
Your Experience
We’re looking for experience in:
- Delivering technology-enabled change using agile approaches.
- Creating and managing delivery plans and sprint/release schedules.
- Facilitating agile ceremonies and driving continuous improvement.
- Managing RAID, delivery governance and senior stakeholder communications.
- Working with third-party suppliers and multidisciplinary internal teams.
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, supplier deliverables and commercial constraints.
- Planning releases, cutover and operational handover, including readiness, training and support.
- Delivering at pace within pressurised environments while keeping projects on track.
- Stakeholder management and user workshop facilitation.
Your Knowledge & Skills
You’ll bring:
- A good understanding of agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
- Strong project planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Strong agile project management and software lifecycle knowledge.
- Knowledge of project controls, including budgeting, supplier management, risk management and reporting.
- Awareness of the software delivery lifecycle, environments, testing, release management and operational handover.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation and documentation skills.
- The ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt plans quickly and drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of CRM, order management and finance systems and their implementation.
- A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMI, and/or an agile certification such as Scrum Master. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
What You’ll Bring to QA
You’ll bring a collaborative, outcomes-focused approach, with the confidence to challenge where needed, remove barriers and continually improve the way projects are delivered.
Most importantly, you’ll maintain a strong customer and stakeholder focus, ensuring delivery remains aligned to value, benefits and measurable outcomes.
