Yolk Recruitment is recruiting for a Technical Project Manager to join our client in Portsmouth on an initial 6-month contract to work on a high volume of building and construction projects.

The role is suitable for a candidate with project management experience in building services.

The successful candidate must demonstrate understanding of issues and processes related to working with the project team and have experience working with suppliers to resolve issues.

A solid understanding of building construction from a structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering perspective is essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Leading and providing technical input for all strategic projects regarding mechanical, electrical, and building fabric requirements for capital investment projects.
  2. Maintaining continuous and structured interface with site technical services teams to ensure standards and specifications are aligned.
  3. Supporting the development of specifications, including feasibility studies, ensuring compliance and sustainability requirements are met.
  4. Providing technical input to support business cases and capital investment projects on site.
  5. Representing and leading all technical service interfaces during design reviews.
  6. Advising and coaching the Major Project management team on issues and resolutions related to mechanical and electrical services.
  7. Attending all design reviews as the Services representative.
  8. Monitoring project delivery to key timescales and escalating issues to the Services management team.
  9. Providing weekly summaries of project status on all service-requested investments.
  10. Interfacing with the core client's services team on local and geographical issues.
  11. Representing Services in other business cases to ensure technical requirements and standards are met.
  12. Representing Services in specific project reviews.
  13. Ensuring technical requirements and specifications are delivered at various project stages to meet standards and deliverables.
  14. Ensuring all asset details are captured according to the process for deployment into the CAFM system/project pack.
