Job description

Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Location: Hayes, UK (Hybrid working model applicable)

Reporting to: Head of Department

Salary: Up to £54,525

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to oversee technical, infrastructure, and change projects for the LTLGS (Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services) Production facility. This role requires effective use of the project management toolkit to develop, implement, and track project plans within the LTLGS and broader LHT project management structure. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project introduction on time and on budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute projects, including creating project (budget) approval requests with economic appraisals.
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional project team to deliver on project goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans minimising operational disruption and tracking systems to ensure adherence to milestones.
  • Liaise closely with key resource owners to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Manage project financials and budgets as per agreements with the project sponsor. Budget for revenue between £50,000 and £1 million.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and KPIs for management as needed.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the organisation to promote project buy-in, communicating project purpose for transparency and alignment.
  • Establish clear guidelines and governance processes.
  • Ensure all responsibilities are executed in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations, as well as Company and Aviation Procedures.
  • Risk experience: Identifying risks, assessing impact, and developing mitigation strategies.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Engineering and/or Business degree (BSc, MSc) or equivalent.
  • Recognised Project Management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP) is desirable, but not essential.
  • LEAN qualification is desirable but not required.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated project management competency is essential
  • Experience managing projects with technical complexity from concept to implementation.
  • Ability to lead diverse, multi-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of project management tools and their application in diverse project types.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High IT competency, including knowledge of MRP & ERP systems and MS Office suite.

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire projects.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate/present complex issues.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Intuitive, responsible, confident & able to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to undergo job-related further training.
  • Positive can-do attitude with the ability to self-motivate and drive change.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, based in Hayes.
  • Full-time, Permanent role.
  • Hybrid working model applicable. 3 days onsite, 2 days working from home.
  • Potential travel required.

  • Mandatory training will be required
