This Technical Project Manager role requires someone with solid public address and voice alarm knowledge, good communication skills, and technical project delivery experience. The ideal candidate will also have experience working in a Linux OS environment. Excellent planning skills are also required for this role.

You will be able to demonstrate your experience managing projects worth £250,000 and above, ideally within Telecoms and Infrastructure environments.

Reporting to the Head of Projects Engineering, the Technical Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects, ensuring successful delivery, and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence and ongoing client relationships.

The role will encompass designing a diverse portfolio of products, including control systems (Linux OS), public address voice alarms, IP speakers, intercom, and networking products, as well as defining interfaces with third-party products. Typical project delivery includes managing the design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and site commissioning of systems.

Responsibilities

  1. Reporting project performance, highlighting and managing all risks & issues and their mitigations throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Specifying and designing solutions using a combination of standard products with custom-designed control interfaces where required.
  3. Producing and managing project management documentation (project programme/schedule, project execution plan, etc.).
  4. Producing project deliverable documentation (inspection and test plan [ITP], factory acceptance test [FAT], etc.).
  5. Managing budgets, project risks, issues, scope, and change control.
  6. Providing support to Business Development and Product Managers for tenders.
  7. Collaborating with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders to resolve technical and logistical problems, taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  8. Ensuring compliance with health & safety and contractual obligations.
  9. Managing multiple third-party vendors with complex interdependencies.
  10. Adopting a full ownership end-to-end approach.

Experience

  1. Specifying public address, voice alarm, passenger help point, and intercom solutions using standard products and designing custom interfaces.
  2. Using modeling tools to predict system performance, including power consumption.
  3. Systems development and integration using Linux OS.
  4. Reviewing and extracting design information from CAD drawings; managing the production of internal CAD drawings and schematics.
  5. Identifying and managing technical risks within projects.
  6. Working independently with minimal guidance.
  7. Managing project budgets and forecasts.
  8. Proven ability to work under pressure.
  9. Strong client-facing skills and commercial acumen.
  10. Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  11. Managing and coordinating complex projects with multiple suppliers, including on-site activities.
  12. Strong leadership and people management skills.
  13. Recognized as an expert within your area.

Education & Qualifications

  1. A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  2. Possession of a Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM is desirable.
  3. Training will be provided on the company’s product range.
