Position: Technical Project Lead – Welding

Place of Work: Camden, NJ

Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for a Technical Project Lead in Welding. The Technical Project Lead-Welding will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers engaged in designing Holtec’s flagship nuclear reactor SMR-300 managed by SMR LLC, a subsidiary of Holtec International. Holtec International is a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power sectors.

The Technical Project Lead - Welding will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the SMR welding construction techniques, assisting with the SMR module design and welding, and supporting the SMR civil-structural team with robotic welding techniques and practices. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding or Construction Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry
  • Knowledge of welding processes (ASME IX Qualified): FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, Laser Welding, and robotic welding techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Experience with weld symbols and fabrication drawings
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%

Additional qualifications include an MS in Engineering and familiarity with Holtec manufacturing processes and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
