    Why join Sizewell C?

Sizewell C is one of the UK’s most important energy projects, helping to deliver low-carbon power to millions of homes. Backed by the government and EDF, this nationally significant infrastructure programme offers the chance to be part of something that will have a lasting impact for future generations. The project builds on the proven design of Hinkley Point C and brings with it exciting opportunities in engineering, construction and innovation.

This is a chance to work on a major programme where your skills will contribute to energy security, net zero goals and a legacy of technical excellence.

Why join as a Technical Project Engineer?

This is a great opportunity for civil engineers looking to step into a design-focused role with end-to-end involvement. You’ll play a key part in delivering high-value civil structures within a complex programme, working alongside experienced engineering leaders and contributing to the successful execution of a major UK project.

It’s ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with multiple disciplines, solving technical challenges and driving quality in engineering design.

    • Hybrid working model (3 days in the London office)
    • Opportunity to buy and sell 5 days holiday
    • Access to our benefits portal which includes various benefits such as electric car scheme, private medical cover, dental cover, discounted gym memberships, etc
    • Bonus of up to 5%
    • Opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects
    • Access to continued professional development, with support for chartership
    • Collaborative and diverse work environment across UK and international teams

We are working with EDF to hire a Technical Project Engineer (CI-BOP) to join the Sizewell C project, a nationally significant programme based on the technical replication of Hinkley Point C. This role sits within the Civil Works Programme as part of a growing, supportive and technically strong team led by an Engineering and Technical Lead.

You will support the delivery of civil design for one or more buildings across the CI-BOP scope. This will include responsibility for progressing design work from definition through to acceptance, liaising with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers to keep technical delivery on track.

You’ll work with colleagues across the UK and France and occasionally travel to meet key project contacts. The role is London-based with 3 days in the office expected and infrequent trips to France every 2 or 3 months. *Please note that this role will eventually become site based (Suffolk) once the project progressed*

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Supporting the delivery of civil design for specific buildings within the CI-BOP scope.
    • Coordinating technical input and responding to queries, changes and reviews through structured governance processes.
    • Collaborating with design contractors and other programme teams to ensure designs are compliant, constructible and aligned to the wider project.
    • Contributing to design assurance and validation, technical risk management and stakeholder engagement.
    • Representing civil engineering interests in multidisciplinary reviews, interfacing with areas such as Site Establishment, Nuclear Island and Offsite Infrastructure.

    What we’re looking for:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in civil design engineering (not site-based roles).
    • Strong technical knowledge in civils, ideally involving heavy civil structures, external works or large infrastructure projects.
    • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential – other degrees will not be accepted for this role.
    • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working in project environments.
    • Previous work in nuclear or HPC is desirable but not essential.

    The team and culture:

You’ll join a collaborative group of civil engineers, project engineers and managers, all committed to delivering a technically complex and nationally important programme. The team values humility, clear communication, collective responsibility and a solution-focused approach.

    Sound like a match?

If you’re a civil engineer with experience in design and looking to be part of something huge, we’d love to hear from you!

Join the team at Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain.

It’s not every day you get the opportunity to shape the working culture of what will be one of Europe’s largest construction projects, while also helping Britain to reach its target of Net Zero emissions by 2050. That’s one of the reasons Sizewell C will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before, and you’ll need to be an exceptional professional to reach the high standards this critical infrastructure project demands.

The UK is experiencing a nuclear renaissance and Sizewell C – along with its sister project at Hinkley Point C in Somerset – is powering the change. We’re ramping up at pace as we look ahead to the Financial Investment Decision in early 2025, and the start of construction soon after. With government fully on board and public opinion shifting significantly in favour of nuclear, there’s never been a better time to join our project.

By submitting an application to this role, you acknowledge that you have read and understood Sizewell C’s employee privacy policy and EDF's employee privacy policy . Just to let you know, EDF will be processing and sharing information about your application on behalf of Sizewell C.
