Job description

Technical Project Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

Roster: Monday to Friday

Duration: 6-months (Maternity Cover, with possibility to extend)

Overview:

This role sits within the PMO side of Programmes, helping improve Elysia’s delivery excellence, governance, tooling and project visibility, while also providing hands‑on delivery support for internal technical projects.

It is ideal for someone with a technical background who enjoys improving how work gets delivered and aspires to grow into a technical Project Manager role.

You will use data, tools and process to help teams move faster, make better decisions and deliver consistently.

Key Responsibilities

You will own the consistent setup, tracking and reporting of technical projects across programmes, ensuring project information is accurate, structured and reliable.

You will work with Project Managers and technical teams to set up JIRA projects, plans, trackers, dashboards and reporting routines across Elysia’s portfolio and projects you own, providing clear visibility of project status, milestones, risks and dependencies.

A key part of the role will be improving the operations behind project delivery, making sure tools, templates and processes are efficient, useful and followed by teams.

You will help identify gaps, inconsistencies and pain points in how projects are planned and tracked, then support improvements to Elysia’s delivery processes, governance and ways of working.

At every step, you will be supported and empowered to make an impact. We are looking for someone excited to work with technical teams and improve how projects are delivered.

What will you do:
  • Support the setup of new projects in a consistent way by creating and maintaining JIRA plans, trackers, dashboards, RAID logs, risk registers and reporting routines.
  • Own the capture and maintenance of project baselines, so current delivery status can be compared against agreed plans for portfolio reporting and SLT reviews.
  • Maintain SLT portfolio visibility by ensuring dashboards and reports provide a clear view of project health, milestones, KPIs, budgets, risks, dependencies, resource and decisions required.
  • Track cross-project dependencies, resource constraints, gaps and risks, escalating conflicts, trade‑offs or capacity concerns where support or decisions are required.
  • Support cross‑team planning by helping ensure project plans are well integrated with Programme Managers’ wider plans, baselines and portfolio priorities.
  • Provide PMO oversight to ensure Project Managers and Programme Managers keep plans, trackers and reports up to date as priorities, estimates, scope or delivery assumptions change.
  • Identify recurring pain points in how projects are planned, tracked and reported, then turn them into practical improvements to Elysia’s delivery processes and tools.
  • Help ensure teams follow agreed planning, reporting and escalation processes in a way that is useful, lightweight and scalable.
  • Support projects you own by maintaining plans, driving actions, tracking blockers and helping teams stay focused on agreed delivery outcomes.
  • Own Jira, Confluence and project administration improvements that make project information easier to manage, report and act on.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with Project Managers, Programme Managers, technical teams, Commercial stakeholders and customers where relevant.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field such as Engineering or similar field.
  • Experience coordinating or planning projects in a fast‑paced engineering, software or product environment.
  • Confident using modern project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Experience with Structure.Gantt, Power BI or the ability to code is an advantage. This role requires experience beyond standard Office tools.
  • Strong interest in PMO, delivery excellence, governance and process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with project data, including plans, milestones, KPIs, budgets, risks, dependencies, actions and resource information, and able to turn it into clear plans, trackers, dashboards and reports.
  • Well organised, detail‑oriented and proactive, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to spot gaps, inconsistencies and risks early.
  • Able to improve processes and ways of working without making them unnecessarily heavy or bureaucratic.
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and able to understand enough technical detail to track dependencies, blockers, progress and the impact of changes
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to follow up with technical, customer and commercial stakeholders, clarify information, build positive relationships and help keep teams accountable to agreed actions and deadlines.
  • Awareness of agile, software delivery or automotive standards is preferred.
