Job Description

Technical Programme Manager – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid, London - City

Full time, Fixed Term

Salary: £70,000-£80,000 per annum

Our mission

The overarching purpose of the Chartered Insurance Institute (‘the Institute’) is to educate and support our members to deliver services to the highest professional standards and to advocate for the public good. By doing this the Institute builds and maintains public trust in the insurance, financial planning, and mortgage advice professions.

Our vision

Our vision is that CII and PFS professionals build a world which delivers ever greater financial resilience for individuals and societies more broadly.

Your role

As a Technical Programme Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex technology projects across the education and membership sectors, with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, CRM, and Learning Management Systems. You will be responsible for managing full project lifecycles—from planning and resource allocation to implementation and quality assurance—ensuring seamless integration of systems that enhance student and member experiences.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors, driving stakeholder engagement and clear communication throughout. Your role will also involve identifying process inefficiencies, managing data migration and reporting, and ensuring robust testing and training frameworks are in place. With a strong foundation in project governance and a proactive approach to risk management, you will play a key role in delivering impactful, user-focused solutions.

You

  • You bring significant experience leading both large-scale and smaller technical projects, ideally within education, membership, or training environments.
  • You’ve successfully delivered Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and CRM implementations, and understand how to integrate these with learning and membership platforms.
  • You’re confident working with LMS solutions that support assessments, CPD, and member records, and you know how to manage data migration, integration, and reporting with precision.
  • You’re fluent in project delivery methodologies like Agile and Waterfall, and comfortable using tools such as MS Project, Planner, JIRA, or Trello to keep things on track.
  • You’re a strong communicator and collaborator, skilled at managing stakeholders, coordinating vendors, and aligning teams around shared goals.
  • You combine analytical thinking with a practical mindset, always focused on quality, efficiency, and delivering measurable outcomes.

Your benefits

In addition to a market-benchmarked base salary, here are some of the benefits you can expect from CII as a valued colleague:

  • 10% non-contributory pension
  • 30 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Life assurance
  • Modern office space located in 20 Fenchurch Street (Walkie-Talkie) with free Sky Garden access and discounts
