Job description

Technical Production Manager - Speech Technology

Contract: 3-month fixed-term contract

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: London, hybrid

The role

SIDE UK is looking for a Technical Production Manager to join our growing Speech Technology team.

SIDE has built a world-class reputation for dialogue and audio production over the past 25 years, working on titles including Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Hitman III, Returnal and It Takes Two.

This role sits within our fast-growing speech technology and datasets division, delivering complex voice-production projects for major global technology and digital media clients.

You will manage multiple projects from initial brief through to final delivery, coordinating clients, studios, voice talent, directors, engineers, vendors and internal teams. You will take ownership of schedules, budgets, production assets and quality, while helping improve the tools and workflows used by the wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple speech and voice-production projects from initial scoping through to final delivery.

  • Translate client briefs into clear budgets, schedules, production plans and resource requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain project cost estimates as briefs and production requirements develop.

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear updates on progress, costs, risks and deliverables.

  • Coordinate recording studios, voice talent, directors, engineers, vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare and manage scripts, session materials, audio and video references and other production assets.

  • Track recording progress, script updates, production changes and final deliverables.

  • Manage project budgets, investigate variances and resolve cost-related queries.

  • Source international partner studios and support commercial negotiations where required.

  • Review client, vendor and talent agreements to identify errors, risks or points requiring negotiation.

  • Ensure editing, quality assurance and asset delivery meet client specifications and agreed deadlines.

  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, reporting and operational efficiency.

  • Develop or enhance production-tracking tools using advanced Excel, automation or other technical solutions.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience in production management, project management or project coordination within a complex delivery environment.

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, budgets and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Experience managing project budgets of approximately £50,000 or more.

  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including experience building complex trackers, reporting tools or operational models.

  • Experience managing large volumes of files, data or assets across multiple projects.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and commercial judgement.

  • The ability to work independently, take ownership and escalat[e] issues appropriately.

  • A collaborative and practical approach, with the flexibility to support colleagues at all levels.

  • The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused when requirements, schedules or priorities change.

Desirable experience

  • Experience within speech technology, audio production, localisation, datasets, gaming, digital media or a related sector.

  • Knowledge of audio-production tools such as Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Audition or iZotope.

  • Experience working across multilingual or international projects.

  • Experience using VBA, Python or other automation tools to improve workflows.

  • Experience coordinating voice talent, recording studios, directors or audio engineers.

You do not need to be a hands‑on audio engineer or software developer. You will, however, need sufficient technical understanding to work confidently with specialist teams and improve production processes.
