Job summary

Downe House is seeking an experienced Technical Production Manager to lead the delivery of productions, performances and events across its venues. You will be part of the Information Systems Department, overseeing lighting, sound, video and stage technologies while driving innovative tech adoption.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in theatre or live events, with strong project management and leadership abilities to manage a team of technical specialists and work closely

Downe House is a leading independent boarding school for girls aged 11-18, based in the village of Cold Ash near Thatcham. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Technical Production Manager to lead the delivery of exceptional productions, performances and events across Downe House’s diverse range of venues. As part of our highly regarded Information Systems Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping memorable experiences for pupils, staff, parents and visitors, combining technical expertise with creativity to bring events to life. Working within an environment renowned for both educational innovation and outstanding performing arts provision, you will oversee the technical delivery of school productions, concerts, showcases and major events while driving the adoption of new technologies that enhance the audience and participant experience.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled technical production professional with substantial experience in theatre, live events or performing arts environments, together with a proven ability to manage complex productions from concept through to delivery. You will possess expertise across lighting, sound, video and stage technologies, alongside strong project management and leadership skills to effectively manage and develop a team of technical specialists. Equally comfortable working strategically and operationally, you will build strong relationships with staff, pupils and external contractors, ensuring the highest standards of creativity, safety and professionalism are maintained.
