The Live Union Production team is looking for a Technical Production Manager to help oversee the technical planning and delivery of our busy calendar of live, virtual and hybrid corporate events. As a TPM, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of event production, collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers behind-the-scenes to ensure flawless execution of audio-visual, lighting, cameras and scenic.

Requirements

  • A curious mind and a keen interest in all things tech both in and outside of work.
  • Strong working knowledge of broadcasting solutions including Vmix, LED, projection, media servers, cameras, sound, lighting and scenic.
  • Strong working knowledge of drawing software (AutoCAD, Vectorworks, etc) and an interest in production design. We are looking for somebody who can work collaboratively with our creative team to bring ideas to the table as well as translate others’ ideas into reality with an eye for practicality and cost-efficiency.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to spot problems before they arise.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams,freelancer technicians and suppliers.
  • A passion for events and a strong desire to contribute to the success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the wider production team in overseeing technical aspects of event production, including audio-visual systems, lighting equipment, staging setups, and multimedia presentations. You will be required to lend your technical expertise to several projects at once, rather than taking ownership of just one or two.
  • Working with the wider production team to produce floorplans and 3D visuals.
  • Liaising with external vendors, such as audio-visual companies, technicians, and riggers, to ensure timely delivery and setup of equipment.
  • Participating in site visits to venues to assess technical requirements, troubleshoot potential issues, and support setup logistics.
  • Assisting internal teams in maintaining inventory of a small amount of in-house technical equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
  • Providing technical support to event staff and crew during setup, rehearsals, and live events.
  • Participating in technical rehearsals to assist in identifying and addressing potential issues related to audio-visual, lighting, and staging setups.
  • Supporting the monitoring of event execution to ensure technical elements are functioning correctly and assist in troubleshooting any technical problems that arise.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event production to contribute to the enhancement of the quality and innovation of our service, and Live Union’s ‘That’s Interesting’ programme every week.
  • Supporting the agency mission of always looking to reinvent and reimagine experiences through new formats, technologies and creative.

Hybrid Working

We offer a flexible working policy, but we do expect everyone to come in to our Central London office at least three days a week, or as often as projects demand. Our work frequently takes us overseas and you may be required to be on site away from home for up to two weeks at a time.

Package:

Salary range: Dependent on experience
