Job summary

Ideagen is seeking a Technical Product Owner for its Maritime portfolio. You will act as the operational backbone of an engineering squad, ensuring priorities are clear and delivery remains efficient in a highly regulated maritime environment.

You will refine requirements, lead sprint ceremonies, collaborate with Product Managers and engineers, and review AI-generated artefacts to maintain quality and momentum. Remote with hybrid options near Nottingham; visa sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting agile software development teams through effective backlog management and sprint planning.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product delivery best practices.
• Ability to create clear, structured requirements that support successful engineering outcomes.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and business stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills within complex delivery environments.
• Confidence assessing and improving AI-assisted delivery processes and documentation.
• Experience in SaaS, maritime technology or regulated software environments would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Own backlog quality and sprint readiness, ensuring engineering teams can deliver effectively against agreed priorities.
• Refine requirements and acceptance criteria to provide engineers with clear, actionable and well-defined work.
• Lead sprint ceremonies, including planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives, to maintain delivery momentum and transparency.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure delivery activities remain aligned with customer and business objectives.
• Review AI-generated user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery artefacts to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Proactively identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies and blockers across the development cycle.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving squad performance and product delivery effectiveness.
• Share knowledge and support the growth of junior Product Owners where appropriate.
