The Guardian is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead the Apps Platform, owning roadmaps for iOS and Android and aligning with engineering, data and UX teams.
You will prioritise platform priorities, anticipate mobile OS changes and drive improvements that reduce cognitive load, improve security and deliver value to app teams and end users.
Join our team at the Guardian and be a part of a diverse and inclusive global organisation that delivers fearless, investigative journalism and holds power to account. Our team of award-winning journalists, cutting-edge commercial professionals and industry-leading digital experts are committed to making a difference and represent a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. We offer a challenging and exciting environment for career development, with a focus on training, growth and fostering an inclusive culture.
We are now looking for a Technical Product Manager to join the Apps Platform team. The Apps platform team is responsible for developing native mobile applications which are state of the art, embracing the latest developments in the mobile platforms that they depend on. The Technical Product Manager will assess the technical priorities of the team and set the product roadmap, balancing this with the product-based priorities of the team’s stakeholders, the Apps Development team. Partnering with the engineering manager, the Technical Product Manager will report to senior product leadership within the organisation to ensure that the higher-level ambitions are met.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone familiar with the Mobile Application market place, aware of upcoming changes and deadlines in the Mobile OS platforms that will form the team’s roadmap.
