Job summary

Zebra People in London is hiring its first dedicated product person to own and build a meaningful part of a fintech platform. You will define what gets built, then ship real features with AI, working alongside a small founding team to move fast from idea to customer.

You will work on full-stack or backend/ frontend contexts, with a focus on ship-ready software and direct customer impact. Equity at an early stage is offered, with direct founder collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in product, engineering, or technical roles.
• Ability to read schemas, reason about APIs, and ship features with AI.
• Experience taking a product from zero to one with real users.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and translate priorities into a sequenced plan across surfaces.

Job description

A fast-moving London fintech startup is hiring its first dedicated product person. The company is live, has real customers, and is scaling quickly. You would join a small founding team of around ten people. Ex-operators who move fast and ship real things.

It's less a strategy role, more a building role. You will define what gets built and then build a meaningful part of it yourself. The output is working software in the hands of real customers, no decks or handoffs.

What you will own

• The roadmap: translating commercial priorities and customer reality into a sequenced, defensible plan across multiple product surfaces.
• The build: prototyping and shipping real features with AI: UI, internal tooling, integration glue, from idea to working code.
• The specs: requirements, edge cases, and acceptance criteria sharp enough that engineering moves fast and rarely reworks.
• Architecture conversations: sitting with engineers on system design and technical trade-offs, holding your own and contributing meaningfully.
• Delivery: backlog, blockers, and Jira, driven all the way to launch.
• Partner integrations: scoping API and integration work with third parties into clean, shippable pieces.

• You have taken something from 0 to 1, ideally a product that reached real users.

Technical baseline (important)

• A background in full-stack, front-end, or back-end engineering before moving into product.
• Comfort querying databases, reading and reasoning about APIs, and understanding system architecture.
• Side projects, open-source contributions, or personal builds are a bonus.
