Role can be Remote or Hybrid Office Base Subject to Location

Scope of the role:

The technical pre sales function within NEC works closely with the application product owners and the hosting design team to ensure that propositions are both meeting client requirements whilst achievable for the delivery teams within NEC. The role will require the candidate to be comfortable learning about the NEC hosting environment and applications, to ensure that they add value to our propositions and tender responses for our hosted applications, in particular Software as a Service opportunities. The role will cover a number of key areas including but not limited to;

  • Working closely with the sales team on proposals and pitches for business acting as an NEChosting pre sales subject matter expert
  • Ensuring that the hosting solution will deliver the customer’s requirements.and highlighting risks to the delivery of the solution to the internal NECstakeholders
  • Work closely with customers to understand and capture their business requirements.
  • Presenting proposals to our customers alongside members of the sales team
  • Producing costing models for hosted propositions
  • Work closely with NECDesign team to ensure the Technical Design Architects understand the customer requirements and assist them to propose a solution that can be delivered within budget constraints.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Experience of engaging with clients and a range of internal stakeholders and demonstrate an ability to explain complex technical solutions to a variety of resources.
  • An ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Previous experience working for a competitor in a similar position would be a strong advantage.
  • Costing up solutions based on virtualised and physical platforms with multiple technologies.
  • Understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions
  • Will need to be eligible for NPPV3 and UK Security Clearance
  • Ability to cost up and include both resilience and redundancy components into the technical solution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a variety of influencing styles to enable effective completion of tasks both individually and within groups.
  • Ability to manage a number of concurrent projects and good time manage management skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to think ‘outside the box’ while defining solutions in a workable form
  • Previous experience on designing and implementing solutions within the Public Sector and Central Government marketplace.
  • Ideally have a technical background, understanding basic network, storage, server , firewall terminology
  • Understanding and experience of NEC products
