Job summary

Willis Aviation Services Limited is seeking a Technical Planning Manager to join our Aircraft Maintenance & Storage team at Teesside International Airport. You will lead planning, coordinate workscopes and ensure resources, schedules and data align with customer and regulatory standards.

The role requires Part-66 AML or equivalent, a relevant degree, and at least 5 years in aircraft maintenance. Strong understanding of Part-145/MOE, safety practices, and stakeholder collaboration are essential

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or continuing airworthiness.
  • Strong knowledge of Part-145 and MOE requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate aircraft maintenance activities and workscopes.
  • Liaise with customers, CAMOs, OEMs and internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and achievable.
  • Develop and maintain planning, work package and maintenance data control processes in line with Part-145.
  • Prepare, review and control maintenance work packages.
  • Ensure manpower, hangar space, tooling, equipment, parts, materials and data are available.
  • Coordinate external services such as NDT and tooling support.
  • Review completed work packages and electronic maintenance records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage archiving and submission of completed maintenance records.
  • Provide technical services and support ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.

Technical Planning Manager | Willis Aviation Services Limited

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Planning Manager to join our growing Aircraft Maintenance & Storage team at Willis Aviation Services Limited (WASL), based at Teesside International Airport.

This is a key role responsible for the effective planning and coordination of aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring work is achievable, appropriately resourced and delivered in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Technical Planning Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordinating aircraft maintenance activities and workscopes.
  • Liaising with customers, CAMOs, OEMs and internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance requirements are understood and achievable.
  • Developing and maintaining planning, work package and maintenance data control processes in line with Part-145 requirements.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Part-66 AML, Aeronautical Degree or equivalent qualification in Planning / Project Management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an aircraft maintenance or continuing airworthiness environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Part-145 and MOE requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to aircraft types within the WASL MOE.
  • Strong planning, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) and EWIS training.
