A leading chartered financial planning firm in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our team. You will prepare comprehensive client reports, conduct product research and maintain accurate client data, supporting advisers with strategic financial advice.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, highly organised and collaborative, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modelling software. A hybrid working arrangement and study support are on offer.

Qualifications

  • Experience in paraplanning or technical support within financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial products, planning tools, and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Responsibilities

  • Draft and deliver client reports and annual reviews with precision and clarity
  • Collaborate with advisors to implement client requests and financial strategies
  • Maintain and update client records using financial planning software
  • Conduct technical research to support financial recommendations
  • Liaise with clients and external providers, both in person and remotely
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Contribute to process improvement and departmental efficiency
  • Support the collection and reporting of management information (MI)

Job description

A rare new opportunity has arisen to join a leading chartered financial planning firm with a central Edinburgh office for an experienced and technically proficient Paraplanner to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced (mostly Chartered) Financial Planning Advisers, contributing to the delivery of high-quality client service and strategic financial advice.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting advisers through the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, conducting product research, and ensuring client data is accurately maintained. This position requires a proactive approach to managing workflows, collaborating with internal teams, and engaging with clients and third parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and deliver client reports and annual reviews with precision and clarity
  • Collaborate with advisors to implement client requests and financial strategies
  • Maintain and update client records using financial planning software
  • Conduct technical research to support financial recommendations
  • Liaise with clients and external providers, both in person and remotely

Experienced required:
