EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Forming part of a dynamic shift team you will be operating at Severn Trent's Water Treatment Works situated in Whitacre. Your duties will include management of raw water sources, through plant processes, onsite sampling, and lab testing. Your role will be to produce drinking water to high quality standards for our customers in the most cost efficient and safe manner.
You will participate in a shift team working a 24/7/365 shift rota. The shift rota gives great work/life balance, and you will be rewarded with ample rest days and shift allowances in addition to your base salary. Participation in a standby rota is a role requirement.
The role will see you working alongside a dedicated maintenance team, process team and local management team using control platforms such as SCADA and PRISM to operate the works. Self-motivation, a keen eye for detail and a willingness to develop are all key attributes which the successful candidate will be able to bring to the role.
As part of the role there will be a requirement to work on an individual basis (lone working) and an ability to dynamically problem solve. This role comes with a base salary of £32,397 with the ability to earn up to an additional £15,000 per year in shift allowances.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Having experience inWorking in a mechanical / electrical environment would be advantageous and working with chemical processes would be beneficial.
A full valid UK driving licence would be required for the role.
Depending on experience, the successful candidate will be required to complete and achieve either; a technical skills bootcamp or Level 2 Water Process Operator apprenticeship, which are delivered internally by our Academy.

You will also be expected to have excellent organisation skills and be efficient and capable of completing several tasks at once whilst working well under pressure. You’ll need a positive attitude and to always be searching for ways to improve the way that you and your team works. You should also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
