Candidates who successfully pass the interview process will remain in this pool for up to 12 months from the date of their interview and may be considered for future vacancies as they arise.
As a Technical Operations Planning Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering innovative technical and operational solutions in support of some of the most sensitive and complex investigations. You will be responsible for developing and coordinating technical operational plans, identifying creative solutions to investigative challenges, and overseeing the deployment of specialist techniques and capabilities.
Working within Covert Operations, you will collaborate closely with operational teams and partners to ensure technical activity is planned and delivered safely, effectively and in line with operational objectives. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, sound decision-making and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, highly sensitive environment.

You will be comfortable working in challenging conditions, including at height, within confined spaces and in time-critical situations, whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and operational security.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly motivated, adaptable and thrive in demanding environments. You will have strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to assess risk, make informed decisions and maintain operational effectiveness in dynamic and often complex circumstances.
As a trusted professional, you will demonstrate discretion, personal responsibility and sound judgement at all times. Working alongside colleagues and partner agencies at both regional and national levels, you will contribute to the successful delivery of covert operational activity that helps protect the public and safeguard national security.
You will be also required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region.
