A growing science-led food business seeks a Technical Operations Manager to lead technical management of third-party manufacturers, including supplier auditing and risk management. Ideal candidates will hold a relevant food science degree and possess 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. This branded science-led food business is ready for scale-up. We need a Technical Operations Manager to help get them there.
Branded retail outlets are already established in some key locations in London and the South. Now the retailers are interested, including Selfridges, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s, it’s time to partner with a third-party co-packer as they gear up to meet national demand.
You’ll be the main technical person on site, with the opportunity to influence best practice, future strategy, and become a valued member of the senior team.
Your experience will include technical management of third-party manufacturers and co-packers, plus supplier auditing and risk management. This will include guiding through new product launches from concept to test production run. The pace is incredibly fast with ever-changing priorities, you’ll be adept at deciding which ones need your attention.
You’ll have a genuine interested in food science innovation. SALSA accredited, this is a business a good way down the line from start-up, however, everyone is hands-on and prepared to roll up their sleeves to meet the demand.
As a minimum we’re looking for a good food science/technology degree or equivalent with around two to three years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment. If it’s in the bakery sector, even better.
