Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our team within Mitie Estates at Dudley Group Of Hospitals. As our Technical Manager, you will coordinate key information, engineering, and working drawing packages to enable smooth transitions of Lifecycle Projects. You will work alongside Technical Assistance provisions to department managers as needed, ensuring projects are built as intended and obtain all necessary technical approvals. We value in-person collaboration and team culture.

Main Duties Required

  1. Act as a client-facing technical expert.
  2. Provide onsite teams with general engineering support as required.
  3. Support the Business Development team with technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
  4. Liaise with wider business solutions to promote innovations in technology and service solutions.
  5. Advise on standardized documentation and processes, such as Forward Maintenance Register and Risk Registers, for site teams.
  6. Conduct investigations and root cause analysis, sharing learnings internally and externally.
  7. Provide technical support for the Estates Team.
  8. Serve as the SME for technical excellence within the team.
  9. Support site teams with technical operations across all building service engineering disciplines.
  10. Promote technical solutions and innovations.
  11. Mentor and develop engineering staff to ensure best practices and knowledge sharing.
  12. Build strong relationships with Clients, Estates, and Commercial teams to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Preferably HNC or Degree in Building Service Engineering or relevant engineering subject.
  • Experience as an Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer in Electrical, Mechanical, and Confined Spaces, with safe systems of work.
  • Experience with a wide range of building service engineering systems.
  • Customer-facing experience with diverse clients.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in a technical environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to produce technical reports when required.
