Job Description:

Your role

As a Technical Operations Engineer (Shift), you will provide technical support for monitoring, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding on critical and non-critical infrastructure and equipment. You will ensure reliable and effective service delivery that exceeds customer expectations and adhere to industry standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on critical building services infrastructure using CMMS systems according to SOPs.
  2. Maintain non-critical building services infrastructure, including fabric, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  3. Perform routine inspections and monitor Building Management System, responding to issues and alarms appropriately.
  4. Identify non-compliance or faulty equipment and take corrective actions within required timescales.
  5. Carry out health, safety, and statutory compliance inspections, maintaining up-to-date records.
  6. Provide first-line response to building services issues, escalate as needed, and coordinate with third-party contractors.
  7. Assist in scheduling preventive and general maintenance with minimal disruption.
  8. Ensure all work follows Safe Systems of Work, change management, risk assessments, and industry best practices.
  9. Develop and review operating procedures and emergency protocols.
  10. Supervise subcontractors and assist in issuing permits.
  11. Operate Quality Management processes per company policies.
  12. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment on site.
  13. Assist with procurement of critical spares and maintain inventory records.
  14. Perform other engineering and maintenance tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer-focused with a calm demeanor, able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and assist in their maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Recognized formal electrical training (e.g., City and Guilds).
  • Knowledge of critical building infrastructure operations (electrical, mechanical, fabric).
