Job summary

United Gas & Power, a leading UK energy supplier, seeks a Head of Technical Operations to provide senior leadership across Billing, Supply Point Administration, Revenue Protection, Siteworks, Settlement and Gas Shipping. You will shape the operating model, governance and improvement agenda for the department, reporting to the Operations and Compliance Director and serving on the SMT.

You will lead a small team, develop capabilities, manage risk, and ensure accurate billing and data integrity

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical or industry-facing department with performance and risk accountability.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior oversight of operating approach, priorities and performance framework for Technical Operations.
• Lead through a Deputy Operations Manager and set clear standards across all functions.
• Ensure billing accuracy, data integrity, settlement performance and metering delivery.
• Govern and review data flows, registrations, and industry data obligations.
• Shape and build out the settlement and gas shipping functions as they develop.
• Maintain governance, controls and escalation routes across all technical operations functions.
• Drive improvements in customer outcomes, productivity and regulatory confidence.
• Sponsor continuous improvement, automation and control enhancements.
