Kirklees Council is seeking a Technical Officer – Building Safety to lead on statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements across high rise buildings. To ensure continued delivery of our statuary duties and ensuring safety we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer – Building Safety to join the Building and Safety Team and deliver against our Building Safety requirements in relation to high rise building management.
As Technical Officer (Building Safety) you will play a pivotal role in ensuring statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements are met for all areas of structural, fire and building safety within our high rise buildings. Working alongside colleagues within compliance, you will manage the Building Safety Management specialist function, ensuring that the Council is fully compliant with the Building Safety Act and up to date with the required legislation and adhering to best practise.
You will ensure building safety is inspected, managed, and maintained in accordance with the Building Safety Act and any other appropriate fire & structural safety legislation. You will work with colleagues across the organisation and with partners as a change agent to ensure positive outcomes for customers.
