Job description

The Team:

Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.

The Role:

As a Technical officer, under the guidance from Scientists, Senior Scientists, Laboratory Manager and Pathologists, you will be required to perform technical work in one or more pathology departments, using prescribed procedures and techniques.

You will need:

  • Multi-disciplinary working experience in a Laboratory setting
  • Ability to multi task competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 61 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join our team!

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:$73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance withPublic Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • An associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Good Shipping Certification, or the ability to gain certification
