The Role: Technical Manager / Senior Technical Manager

Location: Remote / Home Based - UK

Work Level: Manager Expert

The Specialist Business Support teams ensure that the Prudential intermediated distribution channel has the appropriate capability, focus, and activity to secure product distribution and support sales plans.

The Senior Technical Manager supports the Head of Technical in delivering training, accreditation, and technical seminars to advisers, paraplanners, and industry professionals. They provide product, regulatory, tax, and trust support, ensuring industry developments are well understood and appropriately responded to.

They lead technical deliverables, support strategic priorities, and act as a technical 'go-to' team for guidance. They work closely with marketing to enhance M&G’s reputation and support campaigns, creating intermediary-facing literature, tools, and calculators. They also act as a spokesperson for PR, working with the press office to demonstrate technical expertise and maintain external relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for advisers and industry bodies.
  2. Engage with financial advisers, paraplanners, and professionals.
  3. Monitor and evaluate technical tasks to align with strategic priorities.
  4. Develop and deliver training, coaching, and development programs.
  5. Coach and mentor Technical Managers, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  6. Support product, regulatory, legislative, tax, and trust queries for M&G Wealth.
  7. Act as a PR spokesperson and collaborate with the press office.
  8. Deputise for the Head of Technical when needed.
  9. Maintain and improve controls to support customer outcomes and reduce operational risk.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of legislative and planning matters affecting financial planning.
  • Understanding of regulatory issues and ability to advise on new regulations.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and providing technical expertise.
  • Ability to oversee CPD provision and assist in planning.
  • Significant experience in legislation and financial planning.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and work across business levels.
  • Deep knowledge of advisory processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to design and deliver training programs.
  • Relevant degree, Chartered Financial Planner, or equivalent experience.
