About PPP

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield brings together KBR, Jacobs, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad Babcock, Sellafield Ltd as the client, and a wider supply chain to deliver a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects.

This 20-year pipeline of work along with the size, scale and complexity of our projects allows us to offer our people rewarding long-term opportunities with the ability to develop their skills and progress their careers.

The PPP Start Up Capability (Commissioning & Pre-Operations) play a vital part in all the projects by ensuring our new-build or modified plants are transitioned to safe and reliable operations. With several major projects already in-flight and other projects in the pipeline now is a great time to join PPP and drive your career forward.

The role

As a Start Up Section Lead you will manage a multi-disciplinary team of Commissioning and Pre-Operations Engineers and Leads to ensure activities are delivered in line with the established processes. You will collate and report on progress and identify and escalate risks, as well as ensuring that appropriate structure and arrangements are in place to facilitate delivery. You and your team will collaborate regularly with other teams in your project, and you will be responsible for representing Start Up, Commissioning and Pre-Operations to external vendors and stakeholders. This is a great opportunity for someone who is career driven and ambitious with aspirations of being a Commissioning or Pre-Operations Manager on a major project.

The ideal person

You will have an HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline as well as experience in managing a multi-disciplined engineering team delivering technical packages with demonstrable evidence of success against agreed project schedules. On top of day management of your team you will also collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders so it’s important that you have excellent communication skills as you’ll be seen as a key point of contract within the project.

Experience of working in Nuclear or a highly regulated environment is nice to have but if you are new to the industry and have the relevant skills and experience then we would love to hear from you.

We believe in delivering responsible nuclear and defence infrastructure.
