Job summary

Ibstock Plc is recruiting a Technical Manager for our Chesterton factory in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The role leads production, quality and environmental systems, ensuring procurement, testing, and continuous improvement across the site.

The successful candidate will manage a technical and quality team, drive performance against targets, and maintain ISO standards while enabling ongoing product development and innovation.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Ability to implement structured problem solving and delegate.
• Strong communication across all levels of the business.
• Knowledge of kiln and dryer operations.
• High degree of self-motivation and numeracy; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & testing of all production materials, goods and services within defined areas.
• Management of all aspects of clay extraction, stockpiling, blending and usage.
• Overseeing all aspects of daily Kiln & Dryer operations.
• Co-ordination of product development and innovation.
• Management of the Factory Quality Assurance system - ISO 9001.
• Management of the Factory Environmental system - ISO 14001.
• People management, motivation, and development of the technical and quality team.
• Application of IMS Tools and Techniques to generate Continuous Improvement.
• Adherence to company and factory procedures for Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.
