Technical Manager
Location: Pembrokeshire, onsite
Hours: Full time Mon-Fri 8AM 4:30PM
Type: Permanent
Salary: £45,000.00 - £57,000.00 per annum

Our client Our client, a leading business in the manufacturing industry based in Pembrokeshire, is seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Manager to join their busy on site team.

Job Description/ The role: As Technical Manager, you ll lead all aspects of food safety, product quality, and compliance, while supporting and developing the technical team. You ll ensure robust systems are in place to meet industry standards (including GFSI and HACCP), manage customer audits, and maintain strong cross-functional relationships. You ll also oversee the daily operations of the on-site lab, acting as Laboratory Manager to ensure high technical standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company s quality and technical goals.
  • Serve as the expert on processes, suppliers, and new technologies.
  • Ensure operations and production are controlled and always audit-ready.
  • Develop and implement the site s technical improvement strategy.
  • Promote a strong quality and food safety culture through continuous improvement.
  • Manage and review testing to guarantee product safety, quality, and claims.
  • Follow company policies on confidentiality, health & safety, and equality.
  • Support the team by assisting with other duties and attending required training.

What we need from you:
  • Knowledge of food safety in a manufacturing environment
  • HACCP Level 3 qualification (minimum)
  • Microbiology experience
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Accurate and numerate
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Hands-on approach
  • Results driven
  • Recent experience in a similar role
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a science-based subject
