Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an experienced Technical/ Hard Services Manager with a strong electrical background to lead facilities operations in a commercial building environment. Qualifications

• Electrical qualification and recognised electrical trade background.
• Hands-on experience as Electrician or Electrical Engineer before moving into management.
• Proven supervisory, team leadership or facilities management experience.
• Strong experience in commercial buildings or large estates.
• BMS (Building Management Systems) knowledge and practical experience.
• Health & Safety and statutory compliance knowledge.
• CDM 2015 understanding (Construction Design and Management Regulations).
• IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification or strong health & safety knowledge.
• Experience managing contractors, teams and multiple workstreams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to make confident decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day facilities operations across the site.
• Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, team leaders and frontline staff.
• Use electrical background to support operational decisions and identify issues.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to alarms and faults.
• Ensure services meet KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage resources to meet daily operational requirements.
• Lead operational briefings and shift handovers.
• Act as key contact for clients, stakeholders and contractors.
• Manage incidents and escalations.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
• Maintain accurate operational, incident and compliance records.
• Support continuous improvement across building and facilities services.
• Ensure contractors and internal teams work safely and to required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day facilities operations across the site.
• Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, team leaders and frontline staff.
• Use your electrical background and technical knowledge to support operational decision-making and identify potential issues.
• Monitor and understand Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond appropriately to alarms, faults and building performance issues.
• Ensure services are delivered in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage resources effectively to meet daily operational requirements.
• Lead operational briefings and effective shift/service handovers.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders and contractors.
• Manage operational issues, incidents and escalations.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work and site procedures.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate should have:

• Electrical qualification / recognised electrical trade background.
• Previous hands-on experience working as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer before progressing into management.
• Proven supervisory, team leadership or facilities management experience.
• Strong experience working within commercial buildings / large estates.
• Good working knowledge and practical experience of BMS (Building Management Systems).
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management Regulations).
• IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification or strong relevant health & safety knowledge.
• Experience managing contractors, operational teams and multiple workstreams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to make confident decisions and resolve issues in a fast-paced operational environment.
