D R Newitt & Associates has a Glasgow site seeking a Technical Manager to oversee quality and systems, ensuring food safety, quality and compliance as volumes grow. You will work with production to embed standards, lead audits and drive improvements across the operation, deputising for the Head of Technical as needed.
The role requires strong leadership, factory presence, and a track record in chilled/high-care environments with a focus on data integrity and customer requirements.
Glasgow | Salary dependent on experience
If you take pride in strong factory standards and want to bring that approach to a well-regarded site experiencing significant growth, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
You would be joining one of the food industry's leading manufacturing businesses at a site that has grown considerably over the past 12 months. As volumes increase and the operation expands, your experience would help ensure food safety, quality and compliance keep pace.
Working alongside the Head of Technical, you would lead the site's Quality and Systems teams, developing their capabilities and setting clear expectations. You would have ownership of the food safety and quality management systems, alongside a strong presence in the factory, working with production colleagues to ensure standards are understood and consistently delivered.
Your ability to spot gaps, challenge practices and follow improvements through would be central to the role. From strengthening process controls and improving data integrity to tackling recurring non-conformances, you would have the opportunity to make changes that improve day-to-day performance.
You would also lead customer and third-party audits, build trusted customer relationships and provide technical input into new products and factory changes. Deputising for the Head of Technical would give you broader exposure across the technical function.
You will bring strong experience in factory standards and compliance management within food manufacturing, ideally gained in a chilled or high-care environment. You will be confident leading teams, managing BRCGS and customer requirements, and getting colleagues across the factory involved in maintaining a positive food safety culture.
The role is site-based in Glasgow, with flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend support.
