Technical Manager / Creative Technologist

Hiring for an experienced Technical Manager/Creative Technologist to aid development for an experimental, Immersive Live theatre show.

MòrFX is working on an immersive theatre production and seeks a talented, creative, and forward-thinking Technical Manager/Creative Technologist to join the team from July to November, with potential for further collaboration.

The role will involve collaborating closely with one artist to develop and deliver complex digital and technical elements of the production. You’ll play a key part in bringing bold, experimental ideas to life in an immersive theatre environment.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

Strong proficiency in at least four of the following: Touch Designer, Blender, Unity or Unreal Engine, Ableton, AR, web-based servers, and motion capture systems

A highly creative mindset with innovative problem-solving skills

Collaborative approach and strong communication skills

Flexibility to work both remotely and in-person, including on-site for performance days

Desirable:

Knowledge of all listed software, plus the Adobe Creative Suite

Experience in immersive or interactive theatre projects, Live Art or Visual art and Technology projects.

Own equipment/kit (bonus, not essential)

Fee: Paid at Scottish Artists Union rates. Approx. £181.50 – £224.50/week (£786 – £973/month) depending on experience, based on 5 hours/week. Flexible working hours and contract.
