Job summary

Luddon Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Technical Manager (Civil & Geotechnical) to lead technical assurance, design management and quality compliance on major energy and civil projects across the UK. You will coordinate internal and external design resources, manage technical risks and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

The role also involves supporting construction teams with technical guidance, validating documentation, and driving quality across project

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in civil, geotechnical or technical management role.
• Experience with earthworks, foundations and infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing engineers/consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes and construction specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across energy and civil engineering projects.
• Coordinate geotechnical and civil design activities.
• Review calculations, drawings, reports and submissions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and regulators.
• Support pre-construction activities and value engineering.
• Ensure technical compliance throughout delivery.
• Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities.
• Support Project Managers, site engineers and construction teams.
• Maintain quality control and audit trails.
• Review ITPs, inspection records and validation docs.
• Prepare and approve validation reports and handover docs.
• Assist project completion and handover with complete technical records.
• Attend progress, design and risk meetings.
