Overview

A leading food manufacturing site is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. This pivotal role is responsible for driving and maintaining compliance across the factory, working closely with operational teams to ensure all products and processes meet food safety legislation, BRC standards, and customer codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all products consistently meet required standards for safety, quality, and legality.
  • Maintain and implement Quality Systems and Policies in line with BRC Global Food Standards and relevant customer codes of practice.
  • Drive improvements in site standards and product quality while reducing consumer complaints.
  • Implement and oversee HACCP systems across all processes to assure product safety, quality, and legality.
  • Manage documentation for the Quality Management System to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Promote a strong quality culture throughout the site through training and awareness initiatives.
  • Train, mentor, and develop the technical team to ensure continued site improvements and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the supplier approval process and work with suppliers to reduce non-conformances.
  • Manage and investigate consumer complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in technical or quality management within food manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety, quality standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Degree-level qualification in Food Science or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of BRC Global Food Standard.
  • Internal Auditor training, ideally with Lead Assessor certification.
  • Full UK driving license.
