Overview
Samsung Networks is an industry leader in Open RAN network deployments with commercial deployments in US, Asia and European markets. We are expanding our Service portfolio to include System Integration Services and as a result we will be creating a new team to lead these activities. As part of our expansion in Europe, Samsung Networks UK is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated System Integration Technical Manager to oversee the delivery of our System Integration Testing and Support packages for a Tier 1 customer in Europe. You will manage and oversee the delivery of our Technical obligations commencing in Q1 2025 and excel in supporting all of our Technical commitments and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction as a result. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate a proven track record in Technical management of complex multi vendor IT and Core Telecommunications projects and has extensive experience in creating and maintaining highly satisfied customers. This role is based in Reading but will require travel to other project and customer locations in the UK. The onboarding timeline for this role is expected to be Q1 2025. This is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Service & System Integration in the Samsung Networks European Organisation.
Responsibilities
- Specify the End to End System Integration Test deliverables for all of the ORAN vendors.
- Define the Test reporting criteria with each stakeholder and create and maintain a customer dashboard for all Test process reporting and issue tracking items.
- Ensure that the agreed Test scope and specification testing reports have been provided by each ORAN vendor.
- Optimize the Test execution plans across each ORAN vendor’s labs to ensure the most optimal testing path is used.
- Ensure that all Test defects are captured and reported to the key stakeholders and provide an End to End resolution plan for such items.
- Steer vendors during troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
- Present Test progress reports to senior stakeholders in the customer’s organisation.
- Create a final Test exit report and system deployment method of procedure documents to the customer.
- In life operational product defect support to the customers technical teams.
- Provide troubleshooting coordination of complex product issues.
- Act as the main technical interface for the Samsung Global Service Centre for Problem ticket analysis.
- Lead the ORAN System Integration testing phases and achieve the Test completion milestones on time.
- Develop and agree a solid hardware and software Test process with the customer and 3rd party ORAN vendors including the internal Samsung technical teams.
- Structure the Test governance with the customer and develop means to communicate timeline adherence to ensure documentation is delivered on time as per Project milestones.
- Support all in-life operational product problems and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely and transparent manner.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science/IT.
- Experience in a Technical lead/management role in the telecom/IT sector with a specific focus on RAN technologies.
- Proven track record with RAN Test coordination and management of complex multiparty hardware and software releases.
- Previous experience of multi-vendor RAN network virtualization solutions such as Open RAN is a plus.
- Proven operational hands-on troubleshooting in multi-vendor environments.
- Exceptional technical problem identification ability and root cause analysis coordination.
- Excellent defect handling across multiple vendor domains.
- Excellent level of technical presentation, communication and planning skills.
- Ability to prepare and deliver complex technical concepts to a high standard within tight timescales.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Excellent documentation writing skills.
- Exceptional ability to navigate large and complex organisations to build relationships and influencing capabilities.
