Job summary

b3 recruitment ltd in Essex is seeking a Technical Manager to oversee Quality, Compliance and Specifications within a food manufacturing site. You will drive BRC accreditation readiness, maintain food safety, legality and hygiene standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3 and proven experience leading BRC audits; office hours Monday to Friday, commutable from Harwich, Colchester, Clacton-on-Sea and surrounding towns.

About the Technical Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to oversee all aspects of Quality, Compliance and Specifications. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining their BRC accreditation and upholding exceptional standards in food safety, legality and hygiene.

Key tasks

• Ensure compliance and audit readiness for BRC, Kosher, Halal and internal standards through audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
• Manage technical and food safety processes, including procedure development, non-compliance follow-up, supplier approvals, and NPD-related tasks like specifications and artwork.
• Support and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to enhance food safety, technical compliance, and supplier performance, including on-site visits and partnerships.
• Oversee systems and reporting, including KPI tracking, internal audits etc.

About You

You’ll have a background in a similar technical role within food manufacturing.

HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3 and experience in leading BRC audits are essential.

The Technical Manager job (ref:9108) is paying up to £50,000 according to your experience.

The site is based in Essex and is commutable from Harwich, Colchester, Clacton-on-Sea, Manningtree, Tiptree, Witham, Ipswich and Hadleigh.

The working hours are office hours Monday to Friday.
