Alexander Steele have partnered with a leading food manufacturer in the Dundee area to recruit a Technical Manager to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technical professional to take the next step in their career, leading the site’s technical function and ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.

About the Role:

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the site’s technical performance – from food safety systems to audit compliance – while managing a small technical team and working cross-functionally to support operations and new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain full BRC compliance and customer audit readiness
• Lead internal and external audits (BRC, customer, third-party)
• Oversee the HACCP and TACCP systems, ensuring they are fully up to date and effective
• Drive food safety and quality culture across site
• Manage quality management systems and ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements
• Support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead, coach, and develop the technical team

What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related subject
• Strong knowledge of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
• Experience with TACCP and food defence principles
• Previous experience in a technical or QA leadership role within food manufacturing
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
