A leading company in the aggregates industry is looking for a Technical Manager to oversee the technical team and laboratory operations in Bristol. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, managing staff, and optimizing production processes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the construction sector and experience in team development, making this an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional.

We are currently looking for a Technical Manager to join our friendly team based at the laboratory at Tarmac Stancombe Quarry near Bristol. This vital key role will manage the technical team and day to day laboratory operations, also having effective liaison and team working with the area operational and commercial teams. Will need to develop and coach the technical team within their areas of responsibility, ensuring effective unit and product quality control is maintained in accordance with Health and Safety and technical specification requirements.
This role is accessible from Bristol, Newport, Chepstow, Forest of Dean, Gloucester Weston Super Mare, Bridgwater and Bath, and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Senior Technical Manager, the role of Technical Manager will be responsible for managing the Senior technicians and the wider technical team, ensuring sampling and testing requirements are fully met and the 5 laboratories operate safely and efficiently, as well as the ability to stand in for the Senior Technical Manager as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Technical Manager will have laboratory experience gained within the construction sector and will possesses knowledge of aggregate and asphalt testing and production. As well as strong knowledge of production processes and techniques, an understanding of geology and experience with hard rock quarries would be preferred.
