About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to provide leadership across Process, New Product Introduction (NPI), Laboratory, and Quality Control (QC) functions. This is a pivotal position on our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), with responsibility for ensuring compliance, innovation, and performance in a highly regulated environment.
The Technical Manager will play a key role in driving cross-functional collaboration, representing technical operations at monthly site leadership meetings, and ensuring the seamless integration of process, laboratory, and QC activities to support both existing and new products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight across Process, NPI, Laboratory, and QC functions.
- Act as a senior technical voice on the site leadership team, presenting updates, risks, and improvements at monthly meetings.
- Ensure compliance with highly regulated industry standards (preferably chemical, but other regulated industries considered).
- Lead the successful introduction of new products through effective planning, validation, and cross-functional coordination.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in technical operations, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee laboratory operations and QC, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Build strong relationships across departments to align technical, quality, and operational goals.
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, and customer visits as required.
- Provide coaching and development for technical teams.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a highly regulated environment (chemical industry preferred, but pharma/biotech/related sectors also considered).
- Broad technical expertise spanning process, laboratory, QC, and NPI.
- Strong track record of influencing and contributing at senior leadership team level.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence presenting at monthly leadership meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and technical standards.
- Experience leading technical projects, process improvements, or product introductions.
