This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional from a house builder, residential developer or consultancy looking to take greater ownership of projects at the pre-development stage, supporting sites from initial feasibility through to planning approval.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering, technical design or infrastructure for residential development.
• Understanding of site feasibility, constraints and residential planning process.
• Experience coordinating external consultants and reviewing technical information.
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities and infrastructure requirements.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess development sites to identify technical constraints, infrastructure requirements and risks.
• Appoint and coordinate external consultants across highways, drainage, utilities, ecology, landscaping and other technical disciplines.
• Review constraints plans, engineering drawings, technical reports and proposed development layouts.
• Evaluate infrastructure requirements and technical solutions to support site viability.
• Coordinate technical input into planning applications alongside planners and senior management.
• Support the progression of planning conditions, Section 106 agreements and other technical matters.
• Managing consultant deliverables, project programmes, budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinating outstanding technical requirements following planning approval.

Role

Working closely with senior management, planners and external consultants, you will oversee the technical aspects of residential and mixed-use development opportunities, identifying site constraints, managing technical risks and coordinating solutions to support viable planning permissions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing development sites to identify technical constraints, infrastructure requirements and potential risks.
• Appointing and coordinating external consultants across highways, drainage, utilities, ecology, landscaping and other technical disciplines.
• Reviewing constraints plans, engineering drawings, technical reports and proposed development layouts.
• Evaluating infrastructure requirements and technical solutions to support site viability.
• Coordinating technical input into planning applications alongside planners and senior management.
• Supporting the progression of planning conditions, Section 106 agreements and other technical matters.
• Managing consultant deliverables, project programmes, budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinating outstanding technical requirements following planning approval.

About You

We are keen to speak with professionals currently working as a Senior Engineer, Senior Technical Coordinator, Engineering Manager or Technical Manager or in a similar role within house building,

residential development or consultancy.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in civil engineering, technical design or infrastructure associated with residential development.
• A good understanding of site feasibility, technical constraints and the residential planning process.
• Experience coordinating external consultants and reviewing technical information.
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities and infrastructure requirements.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
