Job Title: Technical Maintenance Surveyor

Salary: £45,600 plus £2,140.80 car allowance per annum

Hours per week: 37 hours

Contract type: Perm

Base Location: Field based role which will operate out of our main office Kingsley (ST5 0QW) with the requirement to visit Aspire sites in and around the Newcastle under Lyme Borough areas on a daily basis.

About the role

We are going through an exciting period of transformation at Aspire housing. As part of our improved way of working we are introducing a number of new Technical Maintenance Surveyors to support our Responsive Repairs and Void (Empty homes) teams.

As part of our 2025 focus and in line with our corporate plan and values, we recognise the importance of “putting the customer at the heart of what we do and getting the job right first time” for them. These new roles are an integral part of the service delivery team to meet the needs of our customers and the business.

With at least 2 years demonstrable post qualification experience working in a social housing maintenance surveyor role and across core trades, you will support the Home Maintenance Service Operations Manager’s by carrying out surveys and property inspections throughout the housing stock within repairs and voids in line with current legislation. Being proficient to inspect, specify and diagnose works in a construction related environment utilising the Nat fed 8 rates, you will scope the works, materials, and plant required while ensuring value for money and the best service for Aspire customers.

You will also be overseeing the delivery of subcontracted repairs, ensuring repairs are completed in accordance with Aspire standards and timeframes demonstrating “what a good job looks like”, being professional with a right first-time approach, supporting the Home Maintenance Team to reach their full potential.
