A financial services organization in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks a Technical Maintenance Lead to manage maintenance operations and ensure compliance with technical standards across various sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building services maintenance and excellent communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary and various benefits, including a pension scheme, and is primarily on site at Cobalt.
Group Property manage all property assets throughout the Group, from our branch estate to Cobalt Head Office and other back-office sites. As Technical Maintenance Lead, you’ll report directly to the Group Property Services Manager and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant running of all technical building services across our portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for the management and delivery of maintenance operations, repair, and lifecycle management of assets. You’ll oversee technical infrastructure, statutory compliance, and contracted service providers – ensuring standards are met and value is achieved.
Working closely with the Group Property Services Manager you’ll support colleagues across the Group by providing expert technical advice, practical solutions, and innovative ways of working. You’ll build strong, credible relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and partners while ensuring safety, comfort, and compliance remain at the heart of everything we do.
The role will be primarily based at Cobalt, with regular travel to our branches and other sites.

You’ll bring extensive experience in M&E building services maintenance, ideally as a Technical Maintenance Manager or in a similar role. Qualified in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines, you’ll also have a strong, practical understanding of all aspects of building services, including:
Alongside your technical expertise, you’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels. You’ll be customer-focused, commercially aware, and highly organised, with strong IT and financial skills to match.

A full UK driving licence will be required for this role.
