SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ is partnering with a fast-growing FinTech using AI to remove friction from the financial application process and accelerate decisions for customers.

They seek a Technical Lead to guide a team of about 7 engineers, stay hands-on, and own design, development and delivery while mentoring peers; hybrid work with central London office and flexible on-site days.

Job description

We're working with a fast-growing FinTech that's using AI to remove friction from the financial application process, cutting the time it takes customers to go from application to decision.

They're now looking for a Technical Lead to lead a team of around 7 engineers, reporting directly into the Head of Engineering you'll have significant influence and scope.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to step back from code and just manage.

You'll stay hands-on. Designing, building and shipping while also owning mentoring, coaching, and helping the team raise its own bar.

What they need:

• Real, hands-on experience taking AI/LLM capability into production, not just prototypes or POCs
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (Python-based stack)
• Someone opinionated and conversational who's happy to challenge ideas (and be challenged)
• A genuine interest in leading people: mentoring, pairing, growing engineers
• Would suit an experienced technical lead or a strong Senior Engineer ready to step up into their first official Lead role.
