Technical Leads oversee a group of developers within a Delivery Team and help to manage day-to-day tasks to ensure elevated levels of productivity, accuracy, and work priority. Technical Leads also have development responsibility, including the development and maintenance of custom applications as well as the customization of products from software vendors.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Perform deliverable reviews and manage measurement of deliverable quality
• Delivery of complex software solutions
• Provide technical SME assistance for a given application
• Technically lead other developers, including assignment of work
• May have line management responsibility for Application Developers
• Assist in maintaining development standards for design, coding, etc.
• Perform design activities in collaboration with the Technical Architect
• Assist in removing impediments to progress
• Support resolution of defects during application testing phases
• Estimate work requests at various levels of confidence
• May serve as a member of a Major Incident Team

The Technical Lead reports to the Application Manager.

We’re looking for someone with these skills and abilities:

• Well-established development experience in Java and related technologies
• Ability to complete application changes on time and to a target level of quality
• Timely and accurate completion of SDLC deliverables that are auditable, testable, and maintainable
• Implementation consistent with solution design and business specifications
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and DevSecOps processes is preferred
• Ensure technical integrity of system changes
• Adherence to development governance & SDLC standards
• Team leadership and mentoring experience
• Ability to set priorities and multitask effectively
• Proficiency in multiple application delivery models including Agile, iterative, and waterfall
• Broad understanding of application development and support technologies
• Previous experience in insurance or technology fields is preferred
• Adaptable to new strategies, programs, technologies, and cultures; comfortable with change
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business management, or related field is preferred
