Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Technical Lead for the Data Ingestion Systems team within our Wayve Corpus division. You will set technical direction for data pipelines, unify sources for AI training, and mentor engineers across robotics, ML and data governance teams.

You'll define roadmaps, shape architecture, improve latency, observability and reliability, and help hire and onboard new engineers in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering focused on scalable data pipelines and 3+ years leading data engineering projects
• Technical leadership experience in pipeline engineering or related domain
• Expertise in modern data pipeline architectures with DAG-based orchestration (Airflow, Flyte, Ray)
• Understanding of data engineering practices, distributed processing frameworks and pipeline optimisation techniques
• Strong communication & collaboration across interdisciplinary teams
• Mentoring and developing engineers
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a technical roadmap for data pipeline capabilities
• Evolve pipeline architecture for new use cases
• Lead design and implementation of ingestion, transformation and distribution features
• Unify data sources into a consistent format for AI training and research
• Build interfaces and systems to improve reliability and scalability
• Set best practices for observability, alerts and monitoring
• Lead efforts to reduce latency and meet SLAs
• Mentor engineers and assist with hiring and onboarding
