Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Technical Lead for the Agentic Commerce Engineering team to shape the future of autonomous commerce on a global scale. You will lead architecture decisions, build secure checkout APIs, and guide AI agent-enabled payment integrations that merchants and partners rely on.

You will drive API governance, developer experience, and interoperability across cloud environments, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience, including architecture and ownership of distributed services or APIs.
Experience designing API-first platforms with clear contracts, versioning and documentation.
Strong cloud-native engineering experience across AWS, GCP, Azure or comparable environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of secure checkout and payment APIs that agents can invoke reliably and deterministically.
Define platform patterns for agent identity, delegated authority, and authentication.
Architect and ship merchant-facing APIs and SDKs with clear contracts and excellent developer experience.
Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.
Help recruit and develop AI-forward engineers and shape technical direction for a greenfield squad.
