Job summary

Worldpay in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Agentic Commerce to join our greenfield backend squad building secure, real-time payments infrastructure for AI-driven agentic commerce. You’ll own APIs, backend services, and integration with risk, tokenization, and authentication layers to enable trusted autonomous checkout.

You’ll contribute from design through production, emphasize reliability, observability, and performance, and collaborate across product, security, and platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in building and operating production services, APIs, or transaction-processing systems.
• Experience with cloud-based deployments (AWS/GCP) and secure, scalable service design.
• Interest in AI agents and agentic workflows, with an eye for validation before real-world actions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure backend services for agentic commerce in real time.
• Develop merchant-facing APIs, SDKs, and developer tooling for easier adoption.
• Own features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production readiness.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and production best practices.
