Job summary

A leading UK technology firm is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to join a high-performing team working on critical Government and National Security projects. You will lead a Scrum team while remaining close to the code and ensuring milestones are achieved. The ideal candidate has strong skills with Java and AWS, previous experience leading agile teams, and excellent communication abilities. We're looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to join a high-performing team delivering across critical Government and National Security projects.
You'll be leading a full Scrum team (typically 8-9 people - AWS, platform, and software engineers plus a Scrum Master), while staying close to the code and ensuring milestones are hit. Whether your current title is Lead Engineer or Senior Software Engineer, what matters is that you're driving delivery and leading by example technically.
Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on skills in Java, AWS, and ideally C++
• Experience running and leading agile Scrum teams
• Confident managing delivery, setting direction and supporting team growth
• Strong communicator who can bridge the gap between engineers and stakeholders
• Must be SC Clearable - ideally already SC cleared
• Must be DV eligible - British citizen (or dual national with 10+ years UK residency)

The Package:

• £65,000-£85,000 base salary
